Still no news..

I still have no ring, no date and no wedding. I am getting a little unsure whether Kirk wants this as much as I do, I doubt he does in some ways.. But then he's a man, so what can you do? Bless him.

Still loving the rainbow theme, probably not so much of an Alice in Wonderland theme, thinking more geek/festival. And have you SEEN the create your own Converse website? That's our wedding shoes for sure. Have a look.. www.converse.co.uk (you need flash, so doesn't work on iPhone/iPad. Boo.)
I'll see if I can get pictures.. And links for my Pinterest board.

I also found the cutest garters. Batman, Hello Kitty, Doctor Who.. I'm thinking YES. Fun, geeky, cute.. Sounds like me. Check out Etsy, they have a really good selection.

Lastly, an app that I have come to love.. It's called 'A Beautiful Mess' and you can do things like this with your photos.. Looks really cute.

Long time no see..

Hello! It's been a while since I posted here. We still plan on getting married, but as yet we haven't told all the family, or seriously arranged anything. However, he's started making noises about the (engagement) ring, and trying to gauge my ring size. Fingers crossed things will get moving again soon. :D

Other than that, I think I have my heart set on a rainbow colour theme, with Alice in Wonderland touches. I hope Kirk doesn't mind!! Pretty sure he's fine with that. The other thing is, we definitely want our friends band to play, and it might become a festival type reception, with a couple of bands and things available. I think these work together ok.. Casual, bright, very us, and (hopefully) unique. Probably in summer, almost definitely at our church, and very likely 2015, possibly 2014.
Yippee!!

The Battle of Bridesmaids.

Hello!
I was just debating bridesmaids. It's a tricky area for me, as I don't have many long-term female friends that I'm really close to. There's my oldest friend, who I hardly ever see, so don't know all that well these days. There's my friend who I've known for years, but have only just become close friends, as we spend ages talking wedding and babies. She's getting married in April next year.  And there's my GBF(gay best friend..) I think I might be having those three.. But that leaves me with a quandry. What does a male bridesmaid wear to co-ordinate with female ones? The bridesmaid dresses are very likely to be a fifties rockabilly style, really seriously thinking of this kind of thing..
I LOVE this dress. Frankly, if I get it for my bridesmaids, I'll be getting one for me as well. I also have a plan for brightly coloured shoes, I want red (as previously said) and I love this image of lots of different coloured shoes.
Not sure it'd work quite so well with just the three bridesmaids, but hey! Maybe there'll be more. And there's always the flowergirls. :)

But yeah.. what does a Bridesmaidman wear? I guess a suit.. but I'd want it to be a bit interesting. I just looked it up.. the idea I like best is having a tie that matches the dresses, maybe a bright shirt.

Argh!! I want a wedding date! I want an engagement ring! I want to feel like I'm genuinely an engaged woman who is legitimately planning her wedding, rather than some random obsessed bunny-boiler..
rant over. Huff.

I found one!!

This is what I want for my top-hat fascinator!!

I prefer the shape and size of the bottom one, but I like the black band of the top one. They're both from here..http://www.etsy.com/shop/orphelia?ref=seller_info and I love her whole collection!

Oops, Boy coming home! Must dash!!

Why why why?!?

Can't I post things to Pinterest via my phone? I NEED a 'pin-it' button on Safari. iPhone, sort it out!!

Mini post today, only on my break at work.. I've had an idea for my wedding 'look'.. I need a mini-top hat fascinator in white with a veil attatched.. I found one on Amazon to give the inspiration (it's not quite perfect, but what is!) and I need to pin it! Grr. Just have to wait til I'm on the laptop I guess.

If anyone has seen a source of awesome top hat fascinators, please do tell!!

Red Shoes and No Knickers

I think I want red shoes for my wedding. My darling fiancée (that still sounds weird) has a bit of a thing for shoes, and particularly red ones with HUGE heels. Obviously, heels need to be practical for me.. The last thing I want on a day like my wedding is to be crying because my feet hurt that much (it has been known). Also, seriously debating red underskirt to match.

I have a habit of going without knickers at parties, and what bigger party than my own wedding? We all know the phrase 'Red Shoes and No Knickers'.. but what's the point of amazing bridal lingerie if you take it off to go commando? Also, church wedding with a bare vajay? I think not!!
At the moment, I'm favouring this kind of style.. Simply because I know I can walk in this kind of thing. With my MAsSIvEly poofy skirt and corset with black beading. Once I find it, of course..

That's enough for now! Au Revoir!!

The Point of Wedding Favours..

What is the point of wedding favours?

I know in todays wedding's they're considered de rigeur, but I'm not sure I agree. It's nice for guests to have something to take away.. but I'm unsure if small bags of sugared almonds is the right way to go. So many of the ideas I've seen have been pointless or generic. I think if anything, it would have to be something that can be used..
To fit in with my preferred theme of 'Alice In Wonderland' I think it would be good to have teacups & saucers. Go around charity shops to find them, and maybe turn in to small candles with some wax & stuff.
Or some kind of jam-jar filled with Dolly Mixtures.. or teacups with sweets! Ooh.. I like that idea.. Bright colours, and sprinkles and glitter and flowers and balloons and.. sorry! I got carried away!

Just mentioned the 'wedding favour' thing to my Darling Fiancee.. and he said anyone using that phrase would be given wedgies.. Right then. If romance isn't dead, it may be in a coma somewhere!! Fortunately, the explanation of 'small gifts for the guests' does pass muster.

So.. I guess that means I do want wedding favours.. but if I had to cut something for budget reasons, that'd be one of the first things to go. Thank you for allowing my idle musings.
